THE HARRIDAN: Hillary's Voice Dooms Her Campaign

By Joan Swirsky

So many issues, so little time, which is why I am studiously avoiding any issues about Hillary other than that voice!

I am definitely not going into the terminal dishonesty thing, you know, when she told the American public, and also the parents of the murdered victims in Benghazi, that the four patriots who lost their lives to a savage Islamic attack was because of an anti-Islam video; that Wall Street and specifically Goldman Sachs is not donating to her campaign and that, according to Dick Morris, FEC reports say that Hillary has received $21.4 million from the financial and insurance industry—almost 15 percent of the total $157.8 million she raised, and she’s still trolling them for big money.”

How about that she won a smashing victory in Iowa (by six coin tosses that magically landed in her favor)?

THE SOCIALIST MILLIONAIRE: Financial Scandals Trail the Loathsome Hypocrite Bernie Sanders

By Cliff Kincaid

Responding to one of Anderson Cooper’s softball questions, socialist Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told the CNN Town Hall on Wednesday night that he lives a frugal life and indicated that he doesn’t care about money or status. “I have a small Chevrolet,” he said. “It is one of the smallest Chevys that they make.” He said it was about five years old.

But James O’Brien, a political consultant and former publisher of Campaigns & Elections magazine, says the career politician, who has been a mayor, member of Congress and U.S. senator, has achieved the financial status of a millionaire.

PREDICTION VALIDATED: Trump Poll Numbers May Be Vastly Inflated Due to Reality Show Name Recognition

By Malcolm X. Cromwell

Two-and-one-half months before last week's Iowa Caucus, columnist S.A. Miller of The Washington Times noted what could be called "The Trump Effect" on poll numbers with an article entitled "Donald Trump seen unlikely to win in Iowa despite poll numbers":

Laura Kamienski, a Republican Party caucus precinct representative for Hiawatha District in Cedar Rapids ... said she expects a surprise in the caucus this cycle similar to former Sen. Rick Santorum’s unexpected win in 2012. Mr. Santorum is back in the 2016 Republican race but is polling near the bottom of the crowded field in Iowa and nationally.

...Pollsters defended their survey methods and stood by their numbers. But some credited Mr. Trump’s dominance in polls to his near-universal name recognition as star of the hit TV shows “The Apprentice” and “Celebrity Apprentice.”

QOTD: "Newly uncovered internal memos reveal the Obama administration knowingly exaggerated charges of racial discrimination in probes of Ally Bank and other defendants in the $900 billion car-lending business as part of a “racial justice” campaign that’s looking more like a massive government extortion and shakedown operation.

So far, Obama’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has reached more than $220 million in settlements with several auto lenders since the agency launched its anti-discrimination crusade against the industry in 2013. Several other banks are under active investigation ... despite the fact that the CFPB had no actual complaints of racial discrimination — it was all just based on half-baked statistics.

A confidential 23-page internal report detailing CFPB’s strategy for going after lenders shows why these companies are forking over millions of dollars in restitution and fines to the government despite denying any wrongdoing... The high-level memo, sent by top CFPB civil-rights prosecutors to the bureau’s director and revealed by a House committee, admits their methods for proving discrimination were seriously flawed from the start and had little chance of holding up in court. Yet they figured they could muscle Ally, as well as future defendants, with threats and intimidation." --Paul Sperry

CRUZ OR TRUMP? Let Jimmy Carter Be Your Guide

By Trevor Loudon

A lot of good people, including many friends of mine, have signed up to support Donald Trump for POTUS. That was understandable when Trump was saying great things about illegal immigration and the media was telling us Ted Cruz couldn’t win.

Now its very clear that Cruz can, and most probably will win, and Donald Trump has revealed himself as more “progressive” than principled.

In my view, restoring the US Constitution would solve the bulk of America’s social, economic and political problems in one fell swoop.

Ted Cruz memorized the entire Constitution at age 14. He has fought several important court battles to preserve it. Senator Cruz lives, eats and breathes the Constitution.

How many times have you ever heard Donald Trump even mention it?

Ever Looked at Ted Cruz's Resume?

By Reaganite Republican

Say what you will about Ted Cruz, but the Senator from Texas is the only man in the current presidential field who has spent his entire life defending the United States Constitution.

He went to the Senate promising he wasn't going there to make friends, but instead pledged to rattle the cages of the establishment. And, unlike 99.9% of the politicos who make it to D.C., he kept his promises:

QOTD: "If you happen to be a WWE or UFC fan, the upcoming Saturday night Republican debate in New Hampshire is likely to look familiar. It’s going to be a bloodbath and everyone on the stage is will be targeting Cruz because of [the 'Carson dropping out' rumor]. He had better be well prepared with the facts and the timeline of events surrounding this Carson dropping out rumor. He will pay a price if he’s not fully prepared. I have confidence he will be, but it will likely not matter to the other candidates, or the so-called moderators. We’ll just see if they keep a handle on things or stoke the fires of discontent, which is more likely, being that everyone except the voters hate Cruz and would love to take him out.

So, in short, I was wrong to jump on Cruz and his staff so prematurely. I now recant my criticism of Senator Cruz and his campaign staff – and here’s the reason why. Many of you may already know this, but I feel compelled to right my own wrong.

On Wednesday, Trevor Loudon posted the timeline of events that led to the misunderstanding. And that’s exactly what it was – a terrible misunderstanding. And the way things look now for the Carson campaign with staff be slashed and leaving for greener pastures, these folks may indeed know something we don’t." --Brent Smith

THANKS, OPEN BORDERS LOBBY: Biggest Drug Bust In NJ History Tied To Mexican Cartels

By J.P. Carroll

NICE WORK, LI'L FALWELL: Evangelical Trump Drops F-Bomb in Major Speech With Kids in Audience

Last week, Iowa evangelical leader Robert Vander Plaats expressed surprise and confusion over the endorsement of Donald Trump by Jerry Falwell's son:

I’m just confused and flabbergasted by the endorsement. I don’t think his endorsement is going to move people. I think when people see Trump is not a conservative—he’s pro-choice. He’s not going to stand up for marriage. He’s not going to stand up to an activist court. He wants to make deals with the establishment and he’s shown judgment and temperament that people are very concerned [about].

As if to reinforce the notion that Trump is an opportunistic chameleon, today Mr. Trump dropped the F-bomb in a major speech in front of thousands of children.

Yes, Rubio's Amnesty bill provided legal status, work permits for criminals

By Jeremy Beck

Fact Check's Robert Farley looked into Ted Cruz's claim that Marco Rubio's immigration bill would have granted legal status (and work permits) to criminal aliens. Farley's piece, "Cruz Distorts Rubio's Immigration Stance," was picked up by USA Today and The Huffington Post among others.

Farley concluded that, "one could argue that Rubio’s plan would allow those convicted of some misdemeanor crimes to obtain legal residency, but Cruz’s blanket claim that Rubio “advocates amnesty for criminals who are here illegally” omits the criminal exceptions that Rubio has outlined."

U.N. TO OBAMA BFF IRAN: Hey, if you could stop raping and executing 9-year olds, that would be greaaaaaaaaat

By Russ Read

The U.N. body charged with protecting the rights of children has told the government of Iran that its laws allowing sex with girls as young as 9-years-old and capital punishment of minors must be changed.

The U.N. Committee on the Rights of the Child announced it’s condemnation of Iran’s practices Thursday after 18 experts completed a review of 14 countries, including Iran. Iran’s current law allows the state to execute minors for capital crimes, a violation of international agreements as well as the forced marriage of young girls.

QOTD: "The Director is somebody who cares a great deal about national security and with the body of evidence, he really has no choice but to refer this for indictment. We have communications back and forth to the President from Hillary Clinton's private email, we have 1300 sensitive documents, 22 classified at the highest level, this is well past anyone claiming that they didn't know.

In this case she made a choice. She made a choice to have a private server, she made a choice to use it with highly sensitive material, she made a choice to receive and re-transmit documents that should have been classified and have later been classified. These choices are what the prosecution will really be about." --Rep. Darrell Issa
